The rich collections in the Grand Evolution Gallery originally derive from the former Zoology Gallery, inaugurated in 1889, and are now displayed in a contemporary and exciting setting. After a tour of the living world: elephants, giraffes, butterflies, tortoise, albatross etc. the visitor reflects on the unity of life. Man's responsibility is also an issue in the gallery devoted to extinct species or species at risk and the future of the natural world.
