Jewel of gothic architecture, the Sainte Chapelle was built at Saint-Louis' request during the 13th century to house Christ's crown of thorns.
The tall chapel with its 600 sq m of stained-glass windows (2/3 being authentic) represents one of the most complete examples of the stained-glass window art of that time..
